These briquettes are made from Oak and Hickory. No additives are used in their production.

Each brick measures approximately 70mm x 80mm x 240mm .

They burn for 3 - 4 hours in a good stove and produce a steady heat with a good flame.

The secret to maximising performance from these economy briquettes is to get them really hot before turning down the air flow. They will then continue to generate good heat for two hours or more.

4. Hardwood RUF Blocks

Wood Briquettes

These briquettes are made from virgin de-barkedash, birch and alder forest thinnings. No additives are used in their production.

Each brick measures approximately 155mm x 100mm x 65mm and weigh approximately 900g.

They burn for 3 - 4 hours in a good stove and produce a steady heat with a good flame.

The secret to maximising performance from these economy briquettes is to get them really hot before turning down the air flow. They will then continue to generate good heat for two hours or more.

Experiment with these to get the best performance from your stove set-up and you will be very impressed. Highly recommended as a high calorie low cost heat source.

One pallet consists of 96 packs of 12 blocks (1,152 blocks). Each pack weighs approximately 10kg and a full pallet weighs about 960kg. The price delivered to your door works out at approximately 30p per kilo.

5. Bark RUF Blocks

Wood Briquettes

These blocks are designed to stay in overnight. They are made from pure Pine and Spruce bark. No additives are used in their production.

Each block measures approximately 155mm x 120mm x 70mm and weigh approximately 1kg.

They will burn for 6 - 10 hours in a good stove and tend to cook gently rather than produce much heat. They do produce a lot of ash, around 4-5%, and it is this ash that helps retain heat in the stove for long periods. Think of a bonfire ash pile which you poke days later and it still has glowing hot embers.

One pallet consists of 84 packs of 12 blocks (1,008 blocks). Each pack weighs approximately 12kg and a full pallet weighs about 1008kg. The price delivered to your door works out at approximately 33p per kilo.

This pallet will be delivered to your door (or nearest hard-standing) by Palletforce. We and they will try to liaise with you to notify you of the anticipated delivey time.

Price :£4.00 per approx 10Kg (min delivery 10 bags).

6. Verdo Briquettes

Wood Briquettes

Made in Grangemouth from Scottish softwood forest thinnings, Verdo remain our top selling briquette. They are highly adaptable in that many folk crack them into thirds and use them for lighting the fire as well as long-term burning.

Verdos may look like standard logs, and whereas you may be use to putting two or three logs on your fire, don't put two or three Verdos on or you may have a furness going! Being under 8% moisture content they burn very hot so we suggest you crack one in half and put the two halves on first to get a feeling for how they perform. Also, they do expand in length as they burn, so put them on so they expand towards the sides of the stove, not towards the door.

Some poeple manage to get these to stay in overnight. That is not to say they can come down next morning, give them a poke and they burst into flames, rather that there is still a good warmth in the stove and a glow from the ashes, which is as much as we reasonably hope to achieve with wood briquettes.

One pallet consists of 96 packs of 6 briquettes (576 briquettes). Each pack weighs approximately 10kg and a full pallet weighs about 960kg. The price delivered to your door works out at approximately 30p per kilo.

This pallet will be delivered to your door (or nearest hard-standing) by Palletforce. We and they will try to liaise with you to notify you of the anticipated delivey time.

Price :£3.50 per approx 10Kg (min delivery 10 bags).

7. Hotties

Wood Briquettes

Made in Suffolk, Hotties are one of the densest briquettes on the UK market. They are made from waste sawdust generated from the furniture industry and other manufacturing processes.

Hotties are made at twice the compaction of our other briquettes. They have a 'ring' to them like very dry beech and being under 6% moisture content they burn very hot.

These are not so easily lit on their own and are best used once you have created a good heart to the fire with Hotmax. You can get these to glow red hot like a long chunk of coal. They last a long time and generate a considerable amount of heat relative to their size.

Hotties do not expand making them very good for an open fire. They generate an attractive flame and are gaining a strong following amongst our customers.

As with all dry briquettes, once they are well alight, turn down the air flow so they tick-over with a warm glow. Too much air and they will burn much too quickly. Don't treat briquettes the way you would damp logs!

One pallet consists of 100 packs of 8 briquettes (800 briquettes). Each pack weighs approximately 10kg and a full pallet weighs about 1,000kg. The price delivered to your door works out at approximately 38p per kilo.

This pallet will be delivered to your door (or nearest hard-standing) by Palletforce. We and they will try to liaise with you to notify you of the anticipated delivey time

Price :£4.50 per approx 10Kg (min delivery 10 bags).
